Our Girl’s Trip to Jamaica

2020 has been a year from me. If you have been following along for any part of it, then you must know! I was in fact very overdue for a calming vacation to soothe my mind. I wanted to go far away to somewhere warm and tropical to forget about my worries for a day few days. This is when I decided… JAMAICA! On top of that, I decided to make it a girl’s trip by bringing one of my very best friends along.

Traveling to Jamaica was not too bad-we had to take a COVID test 10 days prior to arrival and that was it. We did socially distance at the resort and we wore masks, but it was easy breezy and worth it.

We ended up staying at the Royalton in Negril Jamaica which was such a lovely resort! I had previously stayed at the Royalton in Cancun, but THIS one… this was by far my favorite! I love staying at the Royalton because they are good for everyone whether you are with your family or your best friend! They even host some amazing destination weddings there and we got to watch one!

We stayed for almost 4 days which did not seem like enough! We were part of the Diamond club which featured a huge suite that included a butler, kitchen, bar, pool table, jacuzzi-you name it. It was lovely!

The restaurants at the Royalton Negril were so yummy! The first night we ate Japanese at Zen. The second night we ate at a steakhouse called Hunter. Then on our third night we had a 7 course meal made by a private chef and I ate goat for the very first time! To my shock, I liked it!

As for breakfast, they had an amazing breakfast buffet with so many things to choose from… and I loved they had fresh green juice!

We loved the resort so much that we really did not feel the need to go off somewhere else. We had our own private cabana where we lounged on the beach and had snacks & drinks served.

There were quite a few pools at the resort including swim out pools for the bottom level rooms. But the beach area in the Hideaway area was my favorite because we found real, live starfish as well as other sealife.

Also I just want to say that this resort IS kid friendly as all Royaltons are. Check out the play area for the kiddos!

There are many excursions to choose from in Jamaica ranging from riding horses in the crystal clear waters to going to visit the famous blue hole, but we chose to visit the very infamous Rick’s Cafe to participate in the cliff jumping which is a bucket list must do!

Rick’s Cafe features a 25 foot cliff that allows tourists to jump-or dive-off… if they dare. Angelica went right away before we ate, but me.. I needed some time to ponder this! As I peered over the cliff getting ready to jump, I realized perhaps I wouldn’t be able to do it.. but I did! It wasn’t so bad after the intial freakout once your feet leave the cliff. I would highly recommend this only if you are a good swimmer!

If you are visiting Jamaica, I would highly suggest staying at the Royalton Negril. Use code Sea2020 for 20% off your ENTIRE stay! Whether its a girl’s trip, a family tip, or even a solo trip you deserve to get out and go somewhere because life is just way too short to stick around the house and not see the various cultures and landscapes of the world.

Yah mon!

So where should I travel to next??
