This week was so exciting! A brand that I have LOVED for YEARS flew us out to Phoenix Arizona to shoot my own clothing collection with them! Next month, my collaboration will launch for Black Friday and I could not be more thrilled with this bucket list dream! There are multiple pieces in my collection including maternity/nursing activewear, a four way sports bra, plus something for all ladies! I CANNOT WAIT!!!!! Anywho Phoenix was so fun and my husband and I had a blast though we were only there for two days. We got to experience a Waymo self driving care that came to pick us up and it was the craziest thing ever. We ate good food and jetted out after the photoshoot with the brand was complete. It was hard to believe that this was a work trip! Getting my makeup and hair done for the shoot and being surrounded by a group of amazing women was just simply remarkable. I do feel that each pregnancy brings the best opportunities!

How far along? 27 weeks

Baby size: Cauliflower

Total weight gain: 21lbs – 149lbs – weight fluctuates between 147-149 currently.

Maternity clothes? Mostly! Things are not fitting very well anymore

Stretch marks? No

Sleep: A lot better since I got my cooling body pillow but I am waking up to pee a TON so I had to limit fluids before bed.

Workouts: Going steady and well!

Diet: I have been loving some banana crisp lately that I have been making. I also ordered mini cupcakes.. this baby is definitely wanting sweets. I have also kind of gotten into the habit of a small bowl of cereal at bedtime.

Best moment this week:  Flying to Phoenix AZ to shoot with Senita Athletics for our new maternity activewear collaboration that is launching November 15! Stay tuned.

Miss anything? My ab muscles not hurting. I get so many twinges and weird pains in my abs sometimes when I move wrong. I think its due to the anterior placenta but who knows. Having an anterior placenta truly sucks by the way.

Food cravings: Still loving fruits and baby food but I feel I need to limit my sugar intake as I failed my glucose test this past week that the doctor ordered… I have to now take a 3 hour glucose tolerance test in a couple of weeks… yay… time to limit carbs and go on more walks.

Anything making you queasy or sick? No.

Gender:  a BOY! 🙂

Labour signs: No!

Symptoms: Feeling like he is so high in my ribs already that I cant breathe lol. Mild pelvic pain, definite back pain. Heartburn. Lots of kicking!

Belly button in or out? In! It never popped out the last 2 times.

Wedding rings on or off: On.

Notes:

I found out I was pregnant at just 3 weeks of pregnancy after we did our frozen embryo transfer. If you haven’t followed my IVF journey, check out my frozen embryo transfer blog and my egg retrieval blog. Long story short, my husband was infertile due to the structure of his reproductive system-his vas deferens were missing so IVF was the only way and it worked the first try!

I have not been pregnant in 8 years almost so it is wild that I am doing it all over again and hope to do it only fourth and final time in another two-three years. Wish us luck and love! I will be doing these pregnancy progression bump updates weekly so you can “grow” with me along with a bump photo + questions about my pregnancy.

The dreaded TWW or Two Week Wait during IVF is something that ALL the IVF mamas know about. I remember reading about it before my IVF journey ever began. What is the infamous two week wait? It is the period of time after your IVF embryo transfer up to the time you get your official beta-hcg blood test at the IVF clinic to confirm a positive or negative pregnancy aka if the transfer itself worked. After so much pain, sweat, tears, and money spent, I get why this time is so anxious for all hopeful mamas to be.

I remember hearing the term PUPO.. or pregnant until proven otherwise in IVF groups. You are supposed to assume you are pregnant until that two week wait is over and you get your blood test done. The mind games I tell ya! I will have to say that I DID start testing early… though many women say NOT to do this. I got my first faint positive at 4 days post frozen embryo transfer. I will not tell you to not do this-what I will say is do what feels right. But yes, I can see how not testing would be better for one’s mental health. With all that being said, here are my personal tips to surviving the two week wait during your IVF journey.

Tips for the Two-Week Wait

Try NOT to test. I know, hypocritical of me right? I started testing two days after and it made me feel so sad when I did not see a positive pregnancy test result. And when I DID see a faint positive result at 4 days post transfer, it made me anxious to keep testing to see if it got darker! I ended up spending over $200 in pregnancy tests because I WANTED TO KNOW. For me, I am glad I did. Therefore, I am going to give you this advice: though I do feel it is better overall to not test early, if you feel like doing it, do it. Do what makes you feel better. But dont expect a positive result after two days… be realistic when testing. Not every IVF patient gets a faint positive pregnancy test result 4 days after transfer.. some ladies in IVF groups for them at 6 days, 8 days, etc. But by the 10-14 day mark, if there is no positive pregnancy test, it most likely did not work this time around.

Manage your stress and anxiety. You can literally prevent yourself from getting pregnant if you stress out too much. Too much cortisol can wreak havoc on your lady hormones so try not to think too much after. Put on a good comedy and laugh! Studies have shown that laughing after transger helped to boost success rates. Its okay to do a little yoga or to get a massage to release any tension you may feel. Ask your partner for a footrub and think positive.

Stay busy, but relaxed. After my transfer, I went out to dinner. A lot of people said to rest and go home to prop my feet up but after reading through many online IVF support groups, I saw a lot of women who had success after they kept moving post-transfer versus the ones who became couch potatoes. Dont get me wrong, dont go run a mile. But just keep moving forward with life as normal. The next day, I went shopping for a little bit and then rested equally. Dont overdo it, but know bedrest is not necessary. Think about it-normal pregnancies happen and women dont even know it so they keep living life per usual.

Continue your accupunture and supplements. I used accupuncture and various supplements to prep my body for months before my egg retrieval and frozen embryo transfer. You can read more on that and all the supplements I used here. Studies have shown that certain supplements and accupuncture helped boost IVF success. There is no reason to stop after transfer-in fact its good to continue as it can take a few days to implant.

Avoid alcohol, caffeine, hot baths, and sex. This is a no brainer but I have to say it anyway-whatever your IVF clinic says to avoid, avoid it. I stopped drinking coffee for two weeks as I waited. Of course, no alcohol, duh. But hot baths are a HUGE no no (I would avoid hot showers too) as well as sex during this vital period of time.

Get some sleep, eat well, and drink water. This is a good time to catch up on rest and start napping if you don’t already.Take care of yourself-you just went through a lot mentally, emotionally, and physically. So treat your body like a temple and eat well, stay hydrated, and sleep.

I hope these tips help get you through the two week IVF wait. Try not to binge on others’ positive experiences while waiting (guilty). Sending you all baby dust!

After my IVF frozen embryo transfer or FET, I did not know what to expect. After all, I had never gone the IVF route before so part of me feared that it would not even take.. but it did! I know it sounds wild, but I feel as if I immediately began experiencing changes, although subtle. This would somewhat make sense as when you do an embryo transfer, its pretty much the moment you get pregnant whereas during natural conception, it can take days for the sperm and egg to meet and travel to implant. Implantation is when symptoms do begin.

I am going to share with you my symptoms after my frozen embryo transfer or FET and I want you to keep in mind that every single woman, body, and pregnancy is so different so try not to compare your journey with mine. This is what I noticed and logged in my phone notes for ten days post transfer until I had my official beta hcg blood test at the clinic which was my official postiive,

Symptoms After Frozen Embryo Transfer Timeline

Day of transfer: Slight cramping on both sides

Day one after transfer: Light cramping with fatigue and a bad headache. I remember my bacon tasting weird and I was super hungry.

Day two after transfer: Light cramping continued but I also had diarrhea today. I was super tired and peed a lot and noticed I was hungrier than usual at night time.

Day three after transfer: vivid dreams began and my sense of smell was stronger

Day four after tranfer: faint positive pregnancy test using First Response Early test. Very mild cramps and a tightness in my belly. I remember feeling so sleepy while driving this day. Dry skin. Shortness of breath. Dizziness and flutters in my belly.

Day five after transfer: Lots of cramping today, brain fog, vivid dreams, and some insomnia the night before. Super tired during the day.

Day six after transfer: First positive digital pregnancy test using First Response. Acne on shoulders. Sniffles as if a small cold was starting and more weird, vivid dreams.

Day seven after transfer: Cramping continued and I noticed light red spotting. Breasts hurt and lower back aches.

Day eight after transfer: Cramping with spotting, vivid dreams, lots of fatigue

Day nine after transfer: Cramping with spotting, vivid dreams, lots of fatigue

Day ten after transfer: Beta HCG test confirms pregnancy at IVF clinic. It’s official!

I hope this blog helps you in some way if you are going through your own IVF journey or thinking about it. I do know that different women will implant at different rates so try not to stress! Not every woman will get a positive home pregnancy test at 4 days post transfer-it can take some women a week or so!

IThis week was so fast paced. We got the kids and hit the ground running with dance, fairs, festivals, and basketball. Oh yeah, and homeschooling which I have not really spoken much about. Its been nonstop for sure and sometimes I wonder how I do it all and run a business? My husband is home now to help luckily but plans on going back to college for his degree after baby is born early next year. I feel this pregnancy has gone so fast that I’ve barely gotten to enjoy it! But he is moving ever so often and letting me know he is brewing and ready to meet us. It was a good week nevertheless.

How far along? 26 weeks

Baby size: Scallion

Total weight gain: 18lbs – 146lbs

Maternity clothes? Mostly! Things are not fitting very well anymore

Stretch marks? No

Sleep: I FINALLY got my sleep pillow!! Its the Clone body pillow and OMG… everyone needs one pregnant or not. Its a cooling body pillow that will blow your mind.

Workouts: We attempted our family walks again but this was such a busy week-something going on every night it seems so we were barely home. Will attempt to do our regular walks next time!

Diet: I feel like I did not have many cravings at all this week and I ate a lot less than usual. I typically wake up and eat a homemade bagel half with cream cheese. snack on fruit or baby food fruit puree (yes weird I know), and eat whatever for lunch and dinner. Super simple.

Best moment this week:  My maternity shoot. I had my kids and husband join in which made them extra special. I had my images done by Suneeta Ames Photography and I cannot wait to see the final edits. I never felt more beautiful! My daughter kept telling me over and over tonight how beautiful I looked and my heart bursted.

Miss anything? My ab muscles not hurting. I get so many twinges and weird pains in my abs sometimes when I move wrong. I think its due to the anterior placenta but who knows. Having an anterior placenta truly sucks by the way.

Food cravings: Still loving some baby food! This week I also started making homemade banana crumble with vanilla ice cream and OMG. That hit the spot.

Anything making you queasy or sick? No.

Gender:  a BOY! 🙂

Labour signs: No!

Symptoms: Heartburn is still happening and just a general achiness in my back and pelvic area.

Belly button in or out? In! It never popped out the last 2 times.

Wedding rings on or off: On.

Last year, we stayed at the Seven Stars Resort in Turks and Caicos for our honeymoon. We fell in love so it was only natural to go back to the same resort for our babymoon. Last time around was filled with jet skis and horseback riding and this time we chose to go a little safer route and we went on a snorkeling excursion and clear kayaked mangroves. We still had a blast exploring this beautiful island and staying at our top favorite resort in the entire world. We cannot wait to bring our kids here to show them what this magical place is all about.

I often get asked where is the best place to stay on the islands of Turks and Caicos and I would have to say Seven Stars Resort, as mentioned above. I honestly have never seen a resort so clean or with as comfortable beds as they have. Also, if you do not enjoy their bedding, they will literally change out mattresses until you are happy! Who does that?? Seven Stars does! But no need because their sheets and pillows are by far some of the best I have felt in a hotel/resort setting. I mean, I actually get GOOD quality sleep on vacation which is rare since I am so stuck on my own bed and pillows from home.

The room itself is rather lovely as we get the junior suite each time. It features the nice comfy bed, a small kitchen, jacuzzi tub and shower, and even a bidet! However, my favorite part is the balcony overlooking Grace Bay-the world’s number one rated beach. Don’t believe me? Just Google it. If you are staying at Seven Stars Resort, definitely request the beach balcony view!

Upon getting off our flight and getting our rental car, we found our snorkel plans had changed to that moment due to strong rip tides the next morning, which was a bit stressful as we had hoped to relax at the resort. So we ran to Mango Reef-one of my favorite restaurants on the island-grabbed a quick bite (I had lobster pasta and he had a burger) and headed over to Bight Park where we met Island Vibes snorel excursion crew. They picked us up right of the beach for our 4 hours of snorkeling fun. We saw celebrity houses off Grace Bay, got to snorkel with multiple black tip reef sharks and colorful fish, went to iguana island, and then back again.

We were exhausted so we went to check into our resort where we were met with rum punches and cold towels that smelled like essential oils. I got the mocktail version of course and my husband had rum added to his-they offer the options which is nice and we were shown up to our rooms. By the way, the staff here have always been nothing but delightful. In fact, the whole island is. I have never met one rude person on the island of Turks and Caicos-I love their vibes. We went to our room, freshened up, enjoyed the view from our balcony though it was a bit rainy, and went to dinner on site at The Farm.

We had eaten at The Farm before so we were excited to come here again. The food is not only tasty, but fresh-so fresh that they have the island’s obly hydroponic system where they grow their own greens right on site. How cool is it? It is also the best place on the island to eat with the best photo op spots! Think lush greenery, giant chess, and neon lights-what a vibe to experience. I highly recommend eating here! It was a great way to end day number one in Turks and Caicos.

Day number two began with breakfast at Seven which is Seven Stars Resort’s other on site restaurant. They offer a complimentary breakfast buffet each morning that I wake up looking forward to each day. They also serve a nice dinner for when you do not feel like leaving the resort. I believe they also do master cocktail classes, but of course I did not check that out-still neat though for those who might be interested.

After breakfast, we went to our favorite spot on the island which is Taylor Bay. Think a bay with crystal blue, shallow water for what feels like at least a mile out where you can walk and sit as you please. We then went to Sopadilla Bay which also had nice shallow blue waters. We also checked out Chalk Sound, which is an area I did not get to visit before.

Lunch was at Omar’s Beach Hut which is one of my favorite lunch spots as they have the best lobster roll on the island. It sits on Five Cays Beach which is super shallow-so shallow that there are picnic tables in the water that you can go sit on. My husband alwasy gets the Oxtail Stew here because its some of the best around.

After Omar’s we went to Leeward Beach which is a part of Grace Bay. This is one of my favorite beaches to visit because it is extremely blue and somewhat private. After Leeward Beach, we went back to Seven Stars Resort to explore it a little more. I bought a coconut filled with coconut water (yes adding rum is an option for those who want that) at the coconut stand by the pool. A must do!

We then played a little cornhole and utilized the free non-motorized watersports that is available for all guests to use. I chose to paddleboard but there are also kayaks available too! All you have to do is just ask the friendly staff and sign out your equipment. After that, we explored the big pool that is suitable for children and adults. YES! This place is totally family friendly, but I have yet to bring my kids here. I hope to do so within the next year or two so they can fall in love with Turks and Caicos and Seven Stars Resort like we have.

We went to dinner at Baci Italian restaurant. This is a little quiet restaurant on the marina in Turks and Caicos and we ate here last time. You would not think a good Italian restaurant would be here in the Caribbean, but MAN is it good. They offer an array of pastas and pizzas-I had the lobster pasta and my husband had the Chicken Marsala. This was a good way to end day number two.

Day 3 of our Seven Stars Resort stay in Turks and Caicos began with our complimentary breakfast buffet at Seven again. We left the resort for a bit to go to Long Bay Beach where we were hoping to find the iconic directional sign but was sad to see it gone. I probably should have checked to see when the photos were taken because it looked like it had been gone for years. They do make replicas of the sign on Etsy that is pretty cool but I wish they would redo the sign! By the way, this was the beach where we rode horses in the water last time. We ended up walking a couple of miles on Long Bay Beach and went back to the resort.

When we got back to Seven Stars, we decided to enjoy some pool time at the adult pool this time around. The adult pool is a bit smaller than the regular pool but features a beautiful pebble wall with waters overflowing from it. Great photo op for couples! It was also nice because it was not as crowded-in fact, we were the only ones at the pool! After some pool time, we ate lunch at The Deck which is Seven Star Resort’s casual lunch and dinner spot. I had a pizza but it was not like any other pizza-it was soooooo good that it made me wish we honestly would have eaten at The Deck more during our stay. The caesar salad was great as well.

After lunch, we relaxed in our room for a bit before heading to go clear kayaking in the mangroves which is a popular activity to do on the island of Turks and Caicos. We did not do a tour, but chose to just rent one. I will tell you the truth-this activity was a bit hard to do across a channel of water! My husband did most of the work but trying to avoid jet skis and boats was a bit frightening lol. We finally made it to the mangroves where we saw plenty of fish and sea turtles.

After turning in our clear kayak, we headed back to the resort to enjoy the jucuzzi bath tub and to get ready for dinner. I had a lot of people recommend Mr. Grouper’s Restaurant so we chose to eat there. We split the Surf and Turf which was steak and lobster and had conch fritters as an appetizer. I was so sad that Da Conch Shack was closed this time during ur stay so we had to find conch somehow!

Day 4, our last day at Seven Stars Resort, we ended it with breakfast a Seven (duh!) and a spa massage at the resort. We chose a couple’s massage as the perfect way to end our stay. I had the Relax and Restore which was their prenatal massage and he got the deep tissue. It was such a relaxing experience and reminded me of our last massage at this same resort where we got to get one on the beach! However, this one was inside so it was nice experiencing the rooms this go around. Afterwards, we checked out and waved goodbye to one of our favorite places on the planet.

I feel like baby grew a ton this week. I can feel where his feet are and recognize his patterns of kicks and movements plus his sleep. My stomach feels HUGE now. I do not remember feeling so big at 25 weeks but then again it has flown by so fast this time around. We spent a few days in Turks and Caicos for our babymoon which made this week pretty awesome. My back is hurting more now than ever.. time to see a chiropractor again!

We explored our favorite beaches and relaxed pretty much. Even got a spa massage before we left!

My little man has been kicking like crazy this week! He kicks so hard now that I can feel him on both sides of my stomach when he stretches out. Its so weird and I almost forgot what it felt like. My belly has started popping like crazy and I am finally starting to feel heavier and more pregnant. It is feeling REAL! Something exciting happened this week-I shot for my NEW prenatal app workout program which is very neat. I hope to release it this coming spring after baby is born followed by a Diastasis Recti program in the app later next year. GOOD THINGS TO COME!

Diet: I discovered Cheesecake Crumbles from the Philadelphia cheesecake brand and OMG. I have been cravings sweets more than usual. Still loving fruit. However I noticed by dinner I am not as hungry anymore. Maybe baby is pressing on my stomach?

Best moment this week:  Shooting my new prenatal workout program for my app that I am hoping to release early next year. Definitely a business bucket list item to check off.

This week we had a doctor appointment for our baby and we all went together as a family. We got to see our baby move and even yawn! He was sooooo cute and was growing very well. My son got to feel him kick for the very first time which was awesome. This past weekend I took the kids to the foley train museum something we used to do all the time. It was nice to recreate old memories especially with this little guy on the way. I cannot believe this pregnancy is over halfway over!

This past week my husband and I had the chance to get away to Jamaica for a quick little late one year anniversary celebration. It was Scotty’s first time visiting, my second time to go there. It was a great time but man, traveling while pregnant is very exhausting! We got a ton of sun and really loved our quality time. I do have another couples trip planned with my husband next month so that we can get in lots of quality time before our son arrives. Other than that, this was a great week! The coming months are going to be so busy so stay tuned for more updates. Baby boy has been kicking lots and its sooooo noticeable now! I look forward to my kids feeling him kick this weekend when we get them!! Otherwise, my belly is starting to POP and the weight gain is definitely happening.

Best moment this week:  Getting to take Scotty to Jamaica for the first time. We enjoyed a couple of days of relaxation to get away from the past busy few months. We get to see our son at our next OB appt next week so we are looking forward to that. But this week was mostly just full of travel and vacationing!

Miss anything? Lying on my belly comfortably to sleep. Still waiting on my new pregnancy pillow!

Food cravings: My sausage cheese dip I made. Served with tortilla chips!

Anything making you queasy or sick? No.

Gender:  a BOY! 🙂

Labour signs: No!

Symptoms: Feeling regular kicks now as he grows and I feel my tummy has popped! Also the back pain has started getting worse and I am noticing home heaviness down below as he grows. Braxton Hicks contractions are in full speed and I noticed them at least once or twice daily but I know these are normal and just my body’s way of prepping for true labor.
