Our Babymoon to Seven Stars Resort in Turks and Caicos
Last year, we stayed at the Seven Stars Resort in Turks and Caicos for our honeymoon. We fell in love so it was only natural to go back to the same resort for our babymoon. Last time around was filled with jet skis and horseback riding and this time we chose to go a little safer route and we went on a snorkeling excursion and clear kayaked mangroves. We still had a blast exploring this beautiful island and staying at our top favorite resort in the entire world. We cannot wait to bring our kids here to show them what this magical place is all about.
I often get asked where is the best place to stay on the islands of Turks and Caicos and I would have to say Seven Stars Resort, as mentioned above. I honestly have never seen a resort so clean or with as comfortable beds as they have. Also, if you do not enjoy their bedding, they will literally change out mattresses until you are happy! Who does that?? Seven Stars does! But no need because their sheets and pillows are by far some of the best I have felt in a hotel/resort setting. I mean, I actually get GOOD quality sleep on vacation which is rare since I am so stuck on my own bed and pillows from home.
The room itself is rather lovely as we get the junior suite each time. It features the nice comfy bed, a small kitchen, jacuzzi tub and shower, and even a bidet! However, my favorite part is the balcony overlooking Grace Bay-the world’s number one rated beach. Don’t believe me? Just Google it. If you are staying at Seven Stars Resort, definitely request the beach balcony view!
Upon getting off our flight and getting our rental car, we found our snorkel plans had changed to that moment due to strong rip tides the next morning, which was a bit stressful as we had hoped to relax at the resort. So we ran to Mango Reef-one of my favorite restaurants on the island-grabbed a quick bite (I had lobster pasta and he had a burger) and headed over to Bight Park where we met Island Vibes snorel excursion crew. They picked us up right of the beach for our 4 hours of snorkeling fun. We saw celebrity houses off Grace Bay, got to snorkel with multiple black tip reef sharks and colorful fish, went to iguana island, and then back again.
We were exhausted so we went to check into our resort where we were met with rum punches and cold towels that smelled like essential oils. I got the mocktail version of course and my husband had rum added to his-they offer the options which is nice and we were shown up to our rooms. By the way, the staff here have always been nothing but delightful. In fact, the whole island is. I have never met one rude person on the island of Turks and Caicos-I love their vibes. We went to our room, freshened up, enjoyed the view from our balcony though it was a bit rainy, and went to dinner on site at The Farm.
We had eaten at The Farm before so we were excited to come here again. The food is not only tasty, but fresh-so fresh that they have the island’s obly hydroponic system where they grow their own greens right on site. How cool is it? It is also the best place on the island to eat with the best photo op spots! Think lush greenery, giant chess, and neon lights-what a vibe to experience. I highly recommend eating here! It was a great way to end day number one in Turks and Caicos.
Day number two began with breakfast at Seven which is Seven Stars Resort’s other on site restaurant. They offer a complimentary breakfast buffet each morning that I wake up looking forward to each day. They also serve a nice dinner for when you do not feel like leaving the resort. I believe they also do master cocktail classes, but of course I did not check that out-still neat though for those who might be interested.
After breakfast, we went to our favorite spot on the island which is Taylor Bay. Think a bay with crystal blue, shallow water for what feels like at least a mile out where you can walk and sit as you please. We then went to Sopadilla Bay which also had nice shallow blue waters. We also checked out Chalk Sound, which is an area I did not get to visit before.
Lunch was at Omar’s Beach Hut which is one of my favorite lunch spots as they have the best lobster roll on the island. It sits on Five Cays Beach which is super shallow-so shallow that there are picnic tables in the water that you can go sit on. My husband alwasy gets the Oxtail Stew here because its some of the best around.
After Omar’s we went to Leeward Beach which is a part of Grace Bay. This is one of my favorite beaches to visit because it is extremely blue and somewhat private. After Leeward Beach, we went back to Seven Stars Resort to explore it a little more. I bought a coconut filled with coconut water (yes adding rum is an option for those who want that) at the coconut stand by the pool. A must do!
We then played a little cornhole and utilized the free non-motorized watersports that is available for all guests to use. I chose to paddleboard but there are also kayaks available too! All you have to do is just ask the friendly staff and sign out your equipment. After that, we explored the big pool that is suitable for children and adults. YES! This place is totally family friendly, but I have yet to bring my kids here. I hope to do so within the next year or two so they can fall in love with Turks and Caicos and Seven Stars Resort like we have.
We went to dinner at Baci Italian restaurant. This is a little quiet restaurant on the marina in Turks and Caicos and we ate here last time. You would not think a good Italian restaurant would be here in the Caribbean, but MAN is it good. They offer an array of pastas and pizzas-I had the lobster pasta and my husband had the Chicken Marsala. This was a good way to end day number two.
Day 3 of our Seven Stars Resort stay in Turks and Caicos began with our complimentary breakfast buffet at Seven again. We left the resort for a bit to go to Long Bay Beach where we were hoping to find the iconic directional sign but was sad to see it gone. I probably should have checked to see when the photos were taken because it looked like it had been gone for years. They do make replicas of the sign on Etsy that is pretty cool but I wish they would redo the sign! By the way, this was the beach where we rode horses in the water last time. We ended up walking a couple of miles on Long Bay Beach and went back to the resort.
When we got back to Seven Stars, we decided to enjoy some pool time at the adult pool this time around. The adult pool is a bit smaller than the regular pool but features a beautiful pebble wall with waters overflowing from it. Great photo op for couples! It was also nice because it was not as crowded-in fact, we were the only ones at the pool! After some pool time, we ate lunch at The Deck which is Seven Star Resort’s casual lunch and dinner spot. I had a pizza but it was not like any other pizza-it was soooooo good that it made me wish we honestly would have eaten at The Deck more during our stay. The caesar salad was great as well.
After lunch, we relaxed in our room for a bit before heading to go clear kayaking in the mangroves which is a popular activity to do on the island of Turks and Caicos. We did not do a tour, but chose to just rent one. I will tell you the truth-this activity was a bit hard to do across a channel of water! My husband did most of the work but trying to avoid jet skis and boats was a bit frightening lol. We finally made it to the mangroves where we saw plenty of fish and sea turtles.
After turning in our clear kayak, we headed back to the resort to enjoy the jucuzzi bath tub and to get ready for dinner. I had a lot of people recommend Mr. Grouper’s Restaurant so we chose to eat there. We split the Surf and Turf which was steak and lobster and had conch fritters as an appetizer. I was so sad that Da Conch Shack was closed this time during ur stay so we had to find conch somehow!
Day 4, our last day at Seven Stars Resort, we ended it with breakfast a Seven (duh!) and a spa massage at the resort. We chose a couple’s massage as the perfect way to end our stay. I had the Relax and Restore which was their prenatal massage and he got the deep tissue. It was such a relaxing experience and reminded me of our last massage at this same resort where we got to get one on the beach! However, this one was inside so it was nice experiencing the rooms this go around. Afterwards, we checked out and waved goodbye to one of our favorite places on the planet.
