The Most Disturbing Thing About The Internet
You open your Instagram feed and chances are you see a half naked, fit girl promoting a supplement or posing at the gym or in her bedroom. Wow, she looks amazing! She has a nice and round booty, no cellulite, skinny thighs, big breasts, and her makeup is just flawless as can be.
You look down at your belly, thighs, or booty and start asking yourself “Why don’t I look like her? I eat clean, but my booty will never get that big or my waist will never be that tiny.”
Ladies, if only you knew the truth.
Speaking of the truth… Half of what you see may not be true. How do I know this? I see it on Instagram every day.
There are iPhone apps out there that enhance your features. From volumizing your butt and breasts all the way down to even putting on makeup. Don’t believe me? Allow me to show you.
This app can make your waist tinier, shrink your thighs, and give you a fuller booty & breasts.
I got rid of my pregnant belly, slimmed my thighs, made my booty bigger, AND gave myself bigger arms.
In this photo, I slimmed my pregnant belly to where it was virtually non-existent. Scary… isn’t it?
In the above photo, I slimmed my thighs, enlarged my breasts, and gave myself bigger biceps & forearm muscles.. yup. Even some fitness guys use this app, as well, to make their arms bigger and I want to show you just how easy it truly is.
There’s also an option to smooth out those stretch marks, skin discoloration, and cellulite.
Unbelievable? Believe it.
“So, what’s wrong with using these apps? After all, it’s not illegal or anything to want to fix your imperfections.”
You are right. However, the thing that IS wrong about these phone apps are people’s intentions for using them. I know dozens of personal trainers and fitness gurus who use these apps to sell or promote a workout program, product, or supplement for their own personal gain. It is basically a LIE. They are lying to their customers by trying to sell these unttainable goals. And then, when these ladies are not able to acheive this “25 inch waist” or “slimmer thighs,” they start feeling like it was something THEY did wrong when it truly wasn’t.
I want you to be very careful with what you see on the internet. It is getting harder and harder to tell what’s real and what’s not now that these apps are so easily accessible. I do not care if you choose to use these apps. What I do care about is whether or not you are trying to sell your service or product to someone and taking advantage of their good faith.
“So, how do you know what’s real and what’s not?”
Thankfully, not many people are skillful enough to use these apps and it becomes pretty damn obvious as soon as walls, windows, and doors start bending or warping. I mean, come on-no gains are THAT powerful.
Yes, I know these types of photos are all over Facebook and Twitter as well, but I have noticed that Instagram is the absolute worst when it comes to this!
The point is that I do not want you to compare yourself to anyone on the internet. The reason for social media (well, besides to be social) is to put your best foot forward. Admit it: you are more likely to share a photo of yourself all done up-hair, makeup, and all-rather than one where you’ve just woken up with dark circles under your eyes and a birds nest for a mane.
I want you to feel like you’re enough and that you are doing enough because you are. What you see isn’t always what you get sometimes. I want you to be proud of your accomplishments and to love yourself and your body. Seeing images of perfection can be such a damper sometimes. Nobody is perfect and I promise that you have way more in common with that fitness model on Instgram than you may think.
*I won’t be releasing the names of the apps so don’t ask. Instead, I do have one app that I would love to share! It is called get off the couch, stop eating junk food, go to the gym, and love the way you look through every stage of the journey. And the cost of this app? Priceless.
Your trainer and friend,
