Pregnancy: 6 Weeks Bump Update

Helloooo 6 weeks! We celebrated my daughter’s party with almost 40 people at our home. It was busy but it was a great time. I still do not know how I pulled it all off with little energy but I did it. The next day was Mother’s Day and we took the kids to Big Kahunas Waterpark in Destin, Fl and ate some yummy Korean food. We had an ultrasound on the Friday before (5 weeks 5 days) for peace of mind with Living Images in Shalimar FL and she saw what she felt might have been a flicker! We had another ultrasound on Tuesday at 6 weeks and 2 days with my IVF doctor, Dr Emmi at Center for Reproductive Medicine in Mobile Alabama. We saw the heartbeat!!!!! It was only 103bpm and the doctor did want to see it higher so we will see her next week. Fingers crossed that it will be at least 120 BPM or more. I am honestly a little nervous. Everything else was normal and well and my subchorionic hematoma shrunk down half its size which is a blessing.

How far along? 6 weeks

Baby size: a lentil

Total weight gain: I may have gained a pound because I have been hungrier this week and eating more. I feel big changes are happening this week.

Maternity clothes? Nope-its way too early to show. But I do feel like I am pooching down below a little bit. I have heard that the more pregnancies you have, the faster your bump starts to show.

Stretch marks? No.

Sleep: ALWAYS TIRED.

Workouts: Currently still on pelvic rest due to subchorionic hematoma that I was diagnosed with last week on my first ultrasound at 5 weeks 3 days, so I am taking it easy this week in hopes the bleeding will go down. They said its normal and most IVF patients have this subchorionic hematoma and to not worry because mine is small. Still was not fun to hear. Its gone down by half its size already.

Diet: Healthy for the most part, feeling hungrier this week.

Best moment this week: Seeing the tiny heartbeat with my husband. 103 bpm fetal heart rate at 6 weeks 2 days.

Miss anything? My energy.

Food cravings: Cheese and seafood

Anything making you queasy or sick? No but if i get too hungry I feel icky.

Gender: We will find out at 15/16 weeks which embryo was used for our IVF transfer! We hope to bring the kids along. We will use Living Images in Shalimar FL-the same ultrasound sonographer who told me Greyson was a boy and Everly was a girl.

Labour signs: No!

Symptoms: Extreme fatigue, gassy, tender breasts. Vivid dreams.

Belly button in or out? In! It never popped out the last 2 times.

Wedding rings on or off: On.

Notes:

I found out I was pregnant at just 3 weeks of pregnancy after we did our frozen embryo transfer. If you haven’t followed my IVF journey, check out my frozen embryo transfer blog and my egg retrieval blog. Long story short, my husband was infertile due to the structure of his reproductive system-his vas deferens were missing so IVF was the only way and it worked the first try!

I have not been pregnant in 8 years almost so it is wild that I am doing it all over again and hope to do it only fourth and final time in another two-three years. Wish us luck and love! I will be doing these pregnancy progression bump updates weekly so you can “grow” with me along with a bump photo + questions about my pregnancy.
