Pregnancy: 5 Weeks Bump Update

This week I am 5 weeks pregnant and feeling so tired. I honestly do not remember being THIS exhausted during pregnancy before but the fatigue is real. I also sleep so good although I have some super vivid dreams. I did not have the kids this week so I got to rest which was nice. We also had our ultrasound-the first one to confirm pregnancy which was exciting. I get my kids on Friday and we are throwing my daughter a Harry Potter themed pool party as she is turning 8! Cannot wait to celebrate this milestone with her and my son. We plan on telling the kids and the guests at the party. Praying that everything is normal and wont fall through,

How far along? 5 weeks

Baby size: Grain of rice

Total weight gain: None. I have lost a couple of pounds-lack of appetite. I just feel so full for some reason so my portions have been smaller.

Maternity clothes? Nope-its way too early to show. But I do feel like I am pooching down below a little bit. I have heard that the more pregnancies you have, the faster your bump starts to show.

Stretch marks? No.

Sleep: I get super sleepy after lunch every day. At night, I am ready to crash around 7:30. I do not remember being THIS tired in my last pregnancies but then again, I am older now.

Workouts: The same as prior to pregnancy-no new changes but I am taking it easier as being an IVF patient makes me nervous for some reason so I dont overdo it this early.

Diet: Healthy for the most part, but not feeling hungry. When I do eat, I get full really fast.

Best moment this week: Seeing our baby on the ultrasound scan for the first time to check placement. We found the gestational sac and yolk sac-we could not see the baby or heartbeat on this ultrasound though it may be too early as that is typically seen on the 6 weeks pregnancy ultrasound. We will have one next week to check for baby. Fingers crossed.

Miss anything? My energy.

Food cravings: Cheese and seafood

Anything making you queasy or sick? No

Gender: We will find out at 15/16 weeks which embryo was used for our IVF transfer! We hope to bring the kids along.

Labour signs: No!

Symptoms: Extreme fatigue, gassy, tender breasts. Vivid dreams.

Belly button in or out? In! It never popped out the last 2 times.

Wedding rings on or off: On.

Notes:

I found out I was pregnant at just 3 weeks of pregnancy after we did our frozen embryo transfer. If you haven’t followed my IVF journey, check out my frozen embryo transfer blog and my egg retrieval blog. Long story short, my husband was infertile due to the structure of his reproductive system-his vas deferens were missing so IVF was the only way and it worked the first try!

I have not been pregnant in 8 years almost so it is wild that I am doing it all over again and hope to do it only fourth and final time in another two-three years. Wish us luck and love! I will be doing these pregnancy progression bump updates weekly so you can “grow” with me along with a bump photo + questions about my pregnancy.
