Pregnancy: 21 Weeks Bump Update
This past week my husband and I had the chance to get away to Jamaica for a quick little late one year anniversary celebration. It was Scotty’s first time visiting, my second time to go there. It was a great time but man, traveling while pregnant is very exhausting! We got a ton of sun and really loved our quality time. I do have another couples trip planned with my husband next month so that we can get in lots of quality time before our son arrives. Other than that, this was a great week! The coming months are going to be so busy so stay tuned for more updates. Baby boy has been kicking lots and its sooooo noticeable now! I look forward to my kids feeling him kick this weekend when we get them!! Otherwise, my belly is starting to POP and the weight gain is definitely happening.
How far along? 21 weeks
Baby size: a carrot
Total weight gain: 10lbs – 138lbs currently
Maternity clothes? Sometimes.
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Sleep this week was not the best due to traveling. I also have been noticing his kicks during the night which have been keeping me up at times. They are super cute though!
Workouts: Workouts are still normal. Just no stomach lying positions anymore.
Diet: I totally indulged on vacation this week and ate a lot of good food. The breakfast buffet on vacation was the best-I ate fruit, oatmeal, pancakes, and grits with bacon.
Best moment this week: Getting to take Scotty to Jamaica for the first time. We enjoyed a couple of days of relaxation to get away from the past busy few months. We get to see our son at our next OB appt next week so we are looking forward to that. But this week was mostly just full of travel and vacationing!
Miss anything? Lying on my belly comfortably to sleep. Still waiting on my new pregnancy pillow!
Food cravings: My sausage cheese dip I made. Served with tortilla chips!
Anything making you queasy or sick? No.
Gender: a BOY! 🙂
Labour signs: No!
Symptoms: Feeling regular kicks now as he grows and I feel my tummy has popped! Also the back pain has started getting worse and I am noticing home heaviness down below as he grows. Braxton Hicks contractions are in full speed and I noticed them at least once or twice daily but I know these are normal and just my body’s way of prepping for true labor.
Belly button in or out? In! It never popped out the last 2 times.
Wedding rings on or off: On.
Notes:
I found out I was pregnant at just 3 weeks of pregnancy after we did our frozen embryo transfer. If you haven’t followed my IVF journey, check out my frozen embryo transfer blog and my egg retrieval blog. Long story short, my husband was infertile due to the structure of his reproductive system-his vas deferens were missing so IVF was the only way and it worked the first try!
I have not been pregnant in 8 years almost so it is wild that I am doing it all over again and hope to do it only fourth and final time in another two-three years. Wish us luck and love! I will be doing these pregnancy progression bump updates weekly so you can “grow” with me along with a bump photo + questions about my pregnancy.
