The Fit Girl’s Guide to Going Paleo

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Clovis. The opinions and text are all mine.

One of the best diets out there is the Paleolithic Diet and it’s been a personal favorite of mine for many years. Whenever I want to trim down for a photo shoot or vacation trip, I will tend to follow this diet as a way to trim off the excess pounds and tone up. This diet revolves around eating food in its simplest and most natural form-unprocessed and unrefined. Basically, if a caveman didn’t eat it neither should you.

Some benefits to eating this style are:

  • stabilized blood sugar
  • burning off stored fat
  • anti-inflammatory
  • improved skin complexion
  • reduction of allergies

What foods can you eat?

There has been a lot of conflict between what foods are allowed on the Paleo diet and what’s not allowed. Foods that you can eat on the Paleo diet include: fruits, veggies, meats, eggs, poultry, seafood, healthy fats, nuts and seeds. Foods that aren’t included on the Paleo diet include: dairy, grains, legumes, alcohol, starches, processed sugar and foods. The best way to overhaul your diet is to go through your pantry and refrigerator and eliminate everything that is not allowed. Then make yourself a grocery shopping list filled with Paleo foods and stock up!

What supplements can you take?

Something that is hard to find when going the Paleo route is a supplement that is actually Paleo-friendly. This is when I discovered The Perfect Paleo Powder. They offer a pre-workout, post-workout, digestive, and fat-loss formulas to best suit your needs.

My personal favorite is the Pre-Workout Powder. It is made with caffeine powder taken from real coffee beans combined with Vitamin B3 (Niacin) and a special blend of hydrolyzed beef collagen protein and 20+ whole food ingredients to gently increase your energy and mental focus, naturally.

Here’s a yummy and simple recipe I have created with the Pre-workout Powder:
