Getting New Kicks at DICKs Sporting Goods
This post is sponsored by Vocalpoint and Dick’s Sporting Goods® . All opinions are my own.
This past week, my family and I had a chance to stop by our local DICK’s Sporting Goods® to get some new shoes. I was running on the treadmill a few days ago and realized that I had been wearing the same light blue New Balance shoes since the week my son was born (over 2 years ago) and they’ve been slowly disintegrating ever since. My husband realized that his shoes were in bad shape too from constantly bumping the tips of his them on the stroller wheels as we walk. He’s a pretty tall guy so bending over to push our son’s stroller can be pretty awkward for him!
Our local DICK’s Sporting Goods® store is super family friendly and we always love going when we are in that part of town. It is HUGE store and caters to anyone and everyone whether you are into working out, athletic sports, fishing, or hunting. We first discovered this amazing store through Vocalpoint and its quickly become a family favorite.
There’s isn’t a huge selection for my two year old son since he’s still so young, but we did find him a pair of new Crocs Kid’s Swiftwater Clogs. As a parent, you will learn to develop a fine appreciate for Crocs. They might not be the sightliest or stylish shoes out there, but when you are in a rush and looking for an indestructible shoe for your toddler to wear, this is your winner! We have bought him Crocs from DICK’s® before so it was a no brainer to go back and get some more-especially since it was the only size they had in any shoe for a two year old. As you can see above, he quickly fell in love with his new “shemmies” which is my son’s toddler lingo for “shoes.”
My husband and I both found a pair of shoes that we loved. I tried on the Nike Women’s Free 4.0 Flyknit Running Shoes because the color and the knit fabric really drew me in. Once I slipped them on, I was obsessed. I had never felt a shoe wrap so snugly around my foot as if it were made for just me! It honestly felt like a sock because of how well it molded around my ankles and arches. Not only that, it was super lightweight as well and made for either casual walking or running. I would certainly call this the perfect active “mom” shoe!
My husband looked at my reaction and was very interested in trying some for himself so I immediately urged him to try on the same pair so he could feel exactly what I was talking about. Lo and behold, he put up the Reeboks that he had stored away in our shopping cart and immediately grabbed a pair of the Nike Men’s Free 4.0 Flyknit Running Shoes for himself. We had an issue finding his size in almost every brand and type of shoe because apparently a 12.5 was a very popular size! But since this Nike shoe fit so snugly around his foot, he was able to grab and wear a 12 just perfectly.
Along with my shoes, I also ended up buying Under Armour Women’s Play Up Shorts
and a lucy Women’s Workout Long Sleeve Shirt. I practically live in workout gear these days so I didn’t feel too bad about spluring! The shorts are absolutely comfortable and I love wearing them not only to workout, but to lounge around in at 8 months pregnant. To be honest, I am thinking about ordering more of these shorts in different colors online as they are only $24.99 each.
The workout shirt is so comfortable as well and to be honest I had debated on getting it due to the price, but I am so glad that I did because it looks great as I am heavily pregnant so I am sure it will look great well after.
