My Favorite Fresh Juice During Pregnancy

I love juicing! I mean, after all juices are tasty and are super good for you. Basically, you get all of the vital nutrients of several different fruits & vegetables at once without having to eat a plethora of food.

My family and I were so excited the day our Suja Juice came in the mail! As you can see, my son loves Suja Juice, too! (yes, kids can drink it!)

Suja is known for their long and delicious line of cold pressed, non-GMO, and organic juices that can easily be found in your local supermarket (I usually grab mine from my Publix).

Suja uses a Cold Pressure technique instead of pastuerizing, also known as High Pressure Processing (HPP), instead of high heat, to extend shelf life & to help maintain essential vitamins, minerals & enzymes.

But…can’t I just juice my own juice at home, its basically the same thing right? Actually, they are not the same. We cold press, hydraulically. First we grind or cut the produce into a fine pulp. Then we apply thousands of pounds of pressure to the pulp extracting every ounce of juice that the fruit or vegetable has to give. This results in you receiving the most nutritional value possible. A traditional blender uses high speed to spin and often times heats the product. As a result of having the skin liquefied your body still needs to break it down to digest thereby limiting what you can quickly receive into your bloodstream.

What about fiber? Juice does not contain any fiber and I hear that fiber is good for you…  Fiber is great for regulating and cleaning out your digestive tract. However there is a significant energy expenditure that your body undergoes when it has to separate juice from fiber. By drinking cold-pressured juices, your body gives your digestive tract a break.

I was sent a few yummy selections from the Suja Essentials line of juice. Suja Essentials are great for anytime, anywhere refreshment and are packed with vital nutrients, amino acids, omegas & antioxidants. All Suja Essentials are USDA certified Organic, Non-GMO & Cold-Pressured. The brand also has two other collections: Suja Classic and Suja Elements.

For my green juice lovers, you are going to LOVE Uber Greens as this is actually new to their collection. It contains cucumber, celery, grapefruit, green chard, green leaf lettuce, lemon, kale, spinach, parsley, peppermint tea & spearmint tea. It is not terribly sweet, but you do not drink juice for the sweetness… ok, well maybe I do lol. This juice was still awesome though because I am obsessed with peppermint!

The next juice I tried was also a green juice called Mighty Greens. This juice contains apple, celery, cucumber, kale, collard greens, lemon, peppermint tea, spearmint tea, spinach, ginger, spirulina, chlorella, barley grass & alfalfa grass. It tasted a little “greener” than the Uber Greens!

Next up, is Mango Magic which is one of my personal favorites. I am partial to juices with more fruit in them because they are sweeter! It contains apple, mango, orange, pineapple, banana and ginger, which soothes my tummy when pregnancy does not agree with me.

The next juice that I tried was the Organic Sweet Beets, which contains apple, carrot, orange, beet, banana, pineapple and turmeric. This is my husband’s favorite. The beets give it a little sweetness aking with the fact it does have fruit!

Lastly, but certainly not least, is my other favorite juice called Berry Nana! As you can probably guess, it contains apple, orange, strawberry, purified water, banana and camu camu. It tastes like a smoothie to me!

Juicing has improved my skin over time! I had acne badly when I first became pregnant (both times), but this time I turned to juice and my complexion seriously glows-even my husband noticed!

I take my Suja Juice with me everywhere on the go-like when I take my son to the park or as I go for a daily jog! It definitely helps to give me the energy I need to keep going throughout the day.
